“The Canine’s Unfortunate Nap: A Tale of Python Predation and Suspense”

In Florida, a tragic occurrence took place involving a 38-pound African rock python that strangled a 60-pound Siberian husky named Duke in the family’s backyard on August 30. Sadly, Duke perished within five minutes as the snake suffocated him by coiling around his neck. There is no clear indication of when the dangerous serpent entered the region southeast of Tamiami Trail and Krome Avenue in Miami where snakes had been breeding. The homeowner reported that her son tried to rescue Duke with gardening scissors but was unable to do so due to the snake’s immense strength. Although these types of incidents are not common in the area, the homeowner advised everyone to exercise caution, particularly when young children are present.
